Chemistry in Korean Class - Important Facts
Chemistry in Korean Class - Important FactsLike other high school students, you would want to prepare yourself for the latest craze, the chemistry in Korean course. This is a very important subject in every study class and hence it is very important to understand all the concepts and theories.Chemistry is a science that is believed to be universal. You have the choice to enroll yourself into a chemistry in Korean class or go for a typical chemistry class in an ordinary school. You can select either one from among the two. The advantages of chemistry in Korean class over the regular chemistry class are many and most of them are mentioned below. The professor speaks to your classmates directly rather than with you. Thus you do not need to wait for questions from other students. You will get answers within the hour and it is quite convenient when you are so busy. The teacher does not lecture on certain situations but shows various scenarios in which the concepts are involved. This is more appropriate for those students who tend to skip lectures. However, for others it may not be an efficient way to learn because they tend to get impatient. It will be more useful if the teacher does not just give lectures but also talks about the implications of the concepts. You can hear the explanations of the concept in various situations such as on television. There are also many online sites where you can listen to the lectures. Besides, you can also talk to the teacher directly rather than chatting with your classmates.Since the teacher doesn't just talk to you but also talks about the concepts with the other students, you will get the full benefit of this communication. The interactions will help you understand things better. Therefore, you will be able to use the materials in your studies. The relationships between you and the teacher will also be improved. Students from the neighboring high schools can ask questions to the teacher directly instead of having to wait for hours for him to reply. They can also take notes during lectures to have a written copy of the material for reference later. On the other hand, students enrolled in chemistry in Korean class can easily communicate with each other.

AP Classes
AP Classes If youre the parent of a high school student planning to go to college, youve probably heard about Advanced Placement (AP) classes and exams. But what do you need to know about these classes other than they will help your teen stand out to colleges and universities and might allow them to earn college credits? Here are the essentials for parents: There are seven categories of AP exams. Students can take AP classes/exams in the following areas: AP Capstone (two available), Arts (five available), English (two available), History Social Science (nine available), Math Computer Science (five available), Sciences (seven available), and World Languages Cultures (eight available). AP scores are a measure of students achievement in college-level AP courses. While an AP score shows how well a student performed on an AP exam, it is also a measure of the students success in the corresponding class. In other words, a higher score on the AP Biology exam tells colleges that your teen has a good grasp of the subject matter in that class. One major benefit: college credit. When your teen takes an AP course and scores well on the related AP exam, he or she can earn college credit. The College Board scores these exams on a 5-point scale: 5 (extremely well qualified), 4 (well qualified), 3 (qualified), 2 (possibly qualified), and 1 (no recommendation). Many colleges grant course credits for scores of 3, 4 and 5. This means savings on college tuition. AP helps students get ahead. All college majors require students to take general education classes like math and English. If your teen earns qualifying scores on AP Exams, he or she could avoid having to take some of those introductory classes. Also, if your teen knows what he or she plans to major in at college, taking AP exams in subjects within that major could mean that he or she can skip those and move directly into upper-level classes. This frees up time in your teens schedule to pursue a minor, take electives or just graduate quicker. The 38 AP exams have some elements in common. Every AP exam has its own requirements, but all AP exams are two to three hours long and usually consist of multiple-choice questions and free-response questions (essay, spoken response, or solving a problem). Most exams are given in the first two weeks of May. AP is also about building skills. AP classes help prepare students for the next phase of their educational journey. The classes are similar to college classes in that students are expected to dig deeper into problem-solving and analysis, get hands-on with the material, dialog and debate ideas, and push themselves. Perhaps most important for parents to keep in mind about taking AP classes is that doing so is a great way for your teen to get ready for college. These classes are challenging and teach students skills often taught in college. And if your teen can earn college credit and/or advanced placement by taking the corresponding exams, all the better. Learn more about AP exams at https://apstudent.collegeboard.org and be sure to check with the colleges to which your teen plans to apply about their policies on AP credits, as every school is different. If you have questions about your high schools AP class offerings, reach out to the guidance counselor at your school. Coping with Stress and Preparing for College Graduation
Coping with Stress and Preparing for College Graduation Tips From an Irvine College Tutor: Coping with Stress and Preparing for College Graduation Tips From an Irvine College Tutor: Coping with Stress and Preparing for College Graduation Senior year in college can be exciting and stressful simultaneously. Students who have worked so hard for nearly four years will soon be able to see the fruits of their labors. However, with college graduation comes the unknown and, at this point in the year, most students will wake up one day and realize they dont know what they will be doing with their life six months from now. This can be very alarming, and each students experience will be different, however; there are a few things that students can think about and plan for to reduce their overall stress. 1. Apply for a job early Most students will see a job ad that states they need to have a bachelors degree to apply. In reality, they have to have a bachelorâs degree to be hired. Students who are very close to graduation can certainly apply for jobs or make initial inquiries before graduation. Although our economy is in an upswing, its still difficult to secure post-graduation employment. Rather than spending the entire summer searching for jobs while unemployed, it makes more sense to start looking for work before graduation. Of course, this activity shouldnt overwhelm students or take away from their academic activities. Seniors can sit down one day a week and research which companies they would like to contact (READ: 5 Things to Consider if You Are Considering Grad School). 2. Create a backup plan (or two) Its always a good idea for students to have a backup plan for their post graduation life. Unfortunately, a fair amount of students are not hired in their field initially, which can be extremely stressful. Some alternatives to immediate gainful employment include taking an internship while maintaining a day job and working full time outside of the field. Students who have a backup plan in place prior to graduation are less likely to experience undue stress. 3. Research the current job market Students are also encouraged to research the current job market. Things can easily change in four years and the choices a student made as a freshman may have different results now that theyâre a senior. Once students have the knowledge of what they will be facing upon graduation, they can start finding concrete solutions, which can prevent their overall stress level. 4. Consider relocation as an option The majority of seniors plan to either stay in their college town or move back to their home town to look for work. However, recent graduates who consider relocation may have more of an opportunity to work full time in their field. Relocation can be stressful and expensive but can also open up a whole new world of experience in gainful employment. Its a good idea for seniors to think about what cities or states they would be willing to move to and find out where various company headquarters are located ahead of time (READ: Prepping for Graduate School: a Guide). 5. Make living arrangements Seniors are likely living in student apartments or alternate student housing. Although student housing can be very expensive for what it is, its much cheaper than a normal apartment. Seniors are encouraged to think about where they want to live upon graduation. If theyâre in subsidized housing, they will likely have to move out upon graduation. Students can search for apartments in the area, look for roommates, or consider moving back home prior to graduation day. Recent graduates are encouraged not to sign a long lease unless theyre sure they will be gainfully employed within the immediate geographical area. Senior year can be very stressful but itâs also an exciting time in life. The next years can lead to any number of interesting experiences, some of which will be wonderful while others may pose a struggle. Regardless, planning ahead and preparing for multiple circumstances can help reduce a studentâs overall stress level. Heading to grad school after college graduation? Weve got you covered! Ask A Nerd! Mastering AP English Language - TutorNerds Ask A Nerd! Q: How do I Master AP English Language? Brief: Like any AP class, AP language is a college level class and requires hard work, fantastic time management, and the help from a teacher or a private Irvine AP tutor. Answer Now that you are a couple of months into your AP language class, you have probably noticed that the homework is piling up and you may have realized that the in-class quizzes are only a small look into what awaits you in May. Donât worry too much, but do spend time working out your time management. Create a timeline of the basic terms and concepts that you should know so that you are not stressing out in the spring. Use a good quality test prep book to help you with your timeline (READ: Last Minute AP Study Guide). Create an electronic sheet with all of your assignments and due dates. Once you have completed each assignment, cross it off. Look at your grade sheet often. Most AP language teachers use Blackboard or School Loop to share grades electronically. Make sure that you are keeping track of your grades at least once a week. Join a study group. Find two or three students in your class who you get along well with and arrange a time to study together each week. Meet at a coffee shop or the library or try using Google Hangouts if you canât get together in person. Talk to your teacher. The more thoughtful questions that you ask, the more likely the teacher will know who you are and know that you are truly interested in his or her subject. Take the time to get to know your teacher and his or her teaching/grading style (READ: Taking the AP Exam). Once you have your general organization down itâs time to learn about everything English. Learn to love your literary devices. Do you know the difference between anthropomorphism and allegory? If not, itâs time to look them up. There are dozens of literary devices and you should learn them all by heart well before May. Take the time to look them up, learn the definition and know a few good examples. Know your famous authors. To be successful in AP language, you should know about dozens of famous authors. Hemingway, Twain, Faulkner, Wilde, and Fitzgerald are just a few. Make sure that you learn about the author of the books you are reading about in class. The authorâs biography and perspective can tell you a lot about the novel that s/he wrote (READ: 5 Tips for your college entrance essays). Think critically. In order to be able to write all of those in class essays as well as score a 3, 4 or 5 on the AP exam in May, you will need to be able to think critically. For example, you should be able to ask and answer questions such as: What exactly did the author mean when s/he was discussing that topic? Why did the author choose specific rhetorical devices? What is the tone of the story and why was this tone used? What does the setting tell you about the authorâs state of mind? Who was the authorâs original target audience? Maths and Music
Maths and Music Did you know that many people believe there is a connection between a person's Mathematical and Musical aptitude? Studying an instrument can really help support the work you do with a Maths tutor. Conversely it is theorised that people who are tutored in Maths must be similarly adept with Music. So, Mozart must have been a master of Maths! Joking aside, many parents play Mozart to their babies so that they grow up to be great at Maths. Actually, the two subjects do harmonise perfectly. It might not seem obvious, but Musical theory is based on Maths. Each note is apportioned a specific place and value that must be counted out as it is played. Similarly, Musical time is presented as a fraction: 3 over 4 for a waltz, and so on. Children who study an instrument work with complicated Maths-based theory every time they play a piece of Music. When students of Music do Musical theory exercises, they are really doing a Maths paper set to Music. Identifying how many beats go into a bar of Music, for example, is a classic division exercise. They also might have to listen to Music, count along with it, and distinguish its time structure. Studies show that singing in particular really helps children along with their Maths. It could nurture real confidence, which is often lacking in Maths students. If you want to encourage your child to improve their Maths, why not consider hiring them a Music tutor as well as a Maths tutor? The two subjects can work wonderfully together.
